The great Picasso felt threatened by the invention of photography, he wondered ' what is the point of painting if reality can be captured by a lens'. I take inspiration from his single mindedness. He became a prolific painter, he understood that he needed to drag painting beyond what was real, in order to surpass photography. He would continually de -construct forms and take them beyond reality. He painted in many different styles, always searching for something new. My work will always seek to convey the passionate absorption of the inner artist. They are the result of a constant exploration of process which lets creativity flow though in the most natural and intuitive way.
