STYLE and TECHNIQUE:
For some time now, I've been working on pushing my abstract work towards new ends. This presents so many challenges. Mastering the art of abstraction has been an inner struggle, and losing myself to my subconscious is never easy. However, I have begun to find a happy place with my new work, and I'm unbelievably excited about what's to come.
As a professional artist, it's difficult to step outside of what is safe and successful, but I need to keep challenging myself to keep the work fresh and interesting.
In 'Walking it Through', I've used a flow technique with watercolours to create the backdrop for the more detailed work in oil and acrylic.

I like to allow the viewers their own interpretation of my artwork, this interaction is important to me. I keep the work ambiguous and hope to raise questions. I'm a messy emotional painter, most of the shapes you see are free formed and guided by I know not what, I just do know instinctively when it feels right.
